Finance Director Samantha Harrison Joins Board of Non-Executive Directors at Rise
NEP Connect is proud to announce that Finance Director Samantha Harrison has been appointed to the Non-Executive Directors (NED) board at Rise, a distinguished advocacy group for gender diversity in broadcast media technology.
As an award-winning charity organisation, Rise is dedicated to promoting gender diversity in various areas of the broadcast field, including engineering, technical operations, sales, marketing, and business.
Launched in 2017, Rise offers an array of opportunities for women looking to set foot and progress within the industry. These opportunities include:
· An annual mentoring programme in the UK, Europe, North America and across the APAC and ANZ regions.
· A free membership for regular networking events, seminars, workshops and conferences.
· A chance to celebrate the achievements of broadcast’s most talented women at the annual Rise Awards.
· The Rise Up Academy, an outreach programme delivering broadcast engineering and technical workshops to primary and secondary school children.
The newly appointed board will be responsible for the management and governance of Rise employees, including those from the Rise Up Academy and the Rise Advisory Boards in North America, Europe, APAC and now in India, as well as current and upcoming initiatives.
The addition of these industry experts will enhance Rise’s leadership team and support the organisation's objective of promoting gender diversity in the broadcast media technology sector, as per the group’s statement.
Samantha Harrison, Finance Director at NEP Connect and now NED at Rise, has been an advocate for gender balanced workforces for years. Not only through her support for Rise, but her work as a STEM Ambassador has inspired young talent to explore career paths in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
As she now takes her position on the NED board, we look forward to supporting Sam and Rise in their endeavour to inspire the next generation of talent and bring equality to the world of work in broadcast. “ Its an honour and a privilege to be part of the Rise leadership team and I look forward to providing financial guidance and governance and supporting this amazing organisation” said Sam.
Following the announcement, Sam will attend the upcoming Rise Awards on 7th November 2023 alongside her colleague Helen Jeffrey, International Sales Director, who has been shortlisted under the Sales award category. Sam will also proudly present the Technical Operations award, sponsored by NEP.
