NEP Connect celebrates contributions to awards winners at the Broadcast Sports Awards!
This week the Broadcast Sports Awards took place, with NEP Connect thrilled to have worked on many projects that won awards, that include:
- Best Sport Production of the Year – The Hundred (Sky Sports)
- Best Sports Graphics for a Live Production –The Hundred (Sky Sports)
- Pundit of the Year – Ian Wright (ITV)
- Sports Presenter of the Year - Gabby Logan (BBC Sport)
- NEP TV Sport Moment of the Year (sponsored by NEP) – Lionesses Winning Goal at the Women’s Euros 2022 (BBC)
- Sports Broadcaster of the Year – BBC Sport
NEP Connect is proud to have been heavily involved in a fantastic year for sport. From cricket to football to motorsport to rugby, NEP has been at the heart of some of the biggest sporting events of the year, and part of some iconic moments that will be remembered for decades to come. It has also been a progressive year for sport, with pushes for equality becoming bolder and more uncompromising that ever before!
NEP Connect is heavily involved with the British Cricket calendar,and this is no different with The Hundred tournament. All the Venues feature on NEP Connect Anylive Network, as we provided the host feed for the entire tournament, which was broadcasted in the UK on Sky Sports and the BBC, which won Best Sport Production of the Year. Through this network, NEP Connect also created a link between these cricket venues, Sky’s Osterley HQ and AE Live(their graphics providers), which allowed the award-winning graphics to be delivered remotely.
NEP Connect is at the heart of the broadcasting of English football. All 92 Football League clubs and all 12 Women’s Super League clubs are part of NEP Connect’s Anylive Network. This made NEP Connect perfect candidates to work with ITV on their coverage of the FA Cup, where presenter Ian Wright was recognised for his exemplary work in front of the camera at the Broadcast Sport awards, winning Pundit of the Year.
The big award of the night was Sports Broadcaster of the Year,which was won by BBC Sport. NEP Connect is proud to have worked on so many amazing projects this year, including the 6 Nations, Women’s Euros, The Hundred and the Rugby League World Cup (that is currently taking place) that have all been broadcasted on the BBC. BBC Sport presenter Gabby Logan also won Presenter of the Year. The summer of 2022 was a summer that celebrated women’s sport, where it became clear how far women’s sport had come.

And to top it all off Football finally came home!”
NEP Connect was proud to be part of a historic UEFA Women’s Euros 2022 which saw England go all the way. In locations up and down the country, NEP Connect was at the heart of a historic summer for women’s Football, which during the group phases saw multiple games broadcast each night. Records were broken with television and live audiences. Whisper TV selected NEP Connect’s Anylive network for their remote production of the coverage shown on BBC One,BBC Two and iPlayer.
And it’s not just been football that has been making strides in the right direction! This autumn has seen England host the men’s, women’s, and wheelchair Rugby League World Cups. Fans had to wait an extra year for the tournament due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but the tournament will leave an impact that lasts generations! The tournament has been ground-breaking, combining the men’s, women’s, and wheelchair competitions into a single concurrent schedule, with all the games appearing on the BBC and iPlayer. The coverage is so extensive that all 61 games across the men’s, women’s and wheelchair formats are available to watch all around the world, with NEP Connect supplying the host and world feed.
